UGC NET Result Declared, Lakhs of Candidates Check Scores Nationwide

Thousands of candidates throughout India are relieved and excited as the National Testing Agency (NTA) formally announced the results of the UGC NET December 2025 exam. One of the most crucial tests for students hoping to work as assistant professors or pursue research through Junior Research Fellowships (JRFs) in Indian colleges and universities is the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET).

The results were released on 4 February 2026 on the official NTA website. By entering their application number and birthdate, candidates can access and download their scorecards. Many students complained about slow loading times and technical difficulties because of the high volume of candidates using the portal at once.

The examination was conducted between 31st December 2025 and 7th January 2026. The test was held in various shifts on different dates at various examination centers in India. The test comprises two papers: Paper 1 tests the candidate’s teaching and research abilities, while Paper 2 evaluates his or her knowledge in the chosen subject. The candidate qualifies for the eligibility positions of Assistant Professor, JRF, or both based on the test results.

Education experts claimed that the UGC NET results play a vital role in determining the academic and research growth in the Indian academic arena. Successful candidates can pursue the PhD programs, government research fellowships, and academic teaching jobs in the research centers and universities. The qualified JRF candidates can receive research fund allowances from the government on a monthly basis.
